At The Storm King School, student clubs have always been an essential component of the overall Storm King experience. Whether organized by the School or conceived and run by students, clubs provide a venue for self-expression, discovering new passions, developing leadership skills, making like-minded friends, and having fun.
Alongside ever-popular clubs like the Model UN, the Builder’s Club, the Black Student Union (BSU), the Intersectional Feminism Club (IFC), and the Spanish Club, several of our students brought new, interesting ideas to the table this year. For example, Jasper L. ’25 and Brian O. ’23 are seeking fellow world travel buffs to join the Travel & Geography Club while Edward I. ’23 and Max C. ’23 are heading the Science Club for those who want to do “casual science expirements” and “witness cool phenomenon.”
For relaxation and fun, Sandy C. ’23 and Emily R. ’24 have organized the Board Game Club where students can get together to play well-known board games from the US and other countries. In addition, the Book Club was back by popular demand this year. Its members are currently discussing Alice Feeney’s Rock, Paper, Scissors.
Mohaned A. ’25 and Alex K. ’24 are offering the Investment Club for those interested in money. “Our goal is to gain an understanding of the stock market, learn to create various portfolios, then participate in the national Stock Market Game. If you like money, join,” explained the two boys. Other interesting and educational clubs include the Debate Team presented by Julia C. ’26, the Photo Club with Nina G. ’23 and the Yearbook Club.
“Everyone is excited to get involved in student clubs once again this year,” commented Dean of Students Julia Carrano. “As the year progresses, we hope to have even more students come forward with their ideas and enthusiasm for new student clubs and committees.”
