The Storm King School is an independent, coeducational boarding and day school located one hour north of New York City with approximately 195 students and 50 employees. The School was founded in 1867 and has no religious affiliation.

Upper School English Teacher
Primary Job Responsibilities: The typical teacher at The Storm King School teaches four sections, coaches two seasons, and works our residential life program. Our English classes range from introductory English classes for 8th or 9th graders, American Literature for our sophomores, to a range of electives for juniors and seniors including world literature, creative writing, genre specific literature classes such as Science Fiction and Fantasy, theme-based courses such as the Hero’s Adventure, and others. Some other duties include: supervise weekend and after school assignments and clubs when needed; attend parent/teacher meetings; attend faculty/staff meetings, dorm meetings and others as required; drive groups of students as needed for athletics, weekend or other activities.
Specific coaching areas might include soccer, basketball, or lacrosse. Housing is not available for this position at this time.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree is required, MA preferred. Candidates with 2-5 years of experience are preferred. A New York State Driver’s License is required; it can be acquired shortly after being hired
