We are now accepting applications for Fall 2024.

The Storm King School offers aid to qualified students on the basis of the financial need of the family and the availability of funds. For the 2023-2024 academic year, we awarded nearly $2.5 million in need-based grants to SKS students and their families. It may surprise you to learn how affordable the Storm King experience really is.

The Storm King School partners with Clarity to process our financial aid applications. Based on the financial information you provide in your financial aid application, Clarity will use a standard calculation to determine an estimated amount that your family can contribute toward educational expenses. Storm King’s Financial Aid Committee uses this estimation as a starting point from which to determine a financial aid award. Financial Aid Application Checklist

Indicate on your admission application that you will be applying for Financial Aid.
Submit completed Clarity Application
Please provide all supporting tax documentation as requested by the Clarity Application
If self-employed please submit corresponding K-1s, form 1065 or 1120s along with your Schedule E.

Detailed Instructions:

For New Students — Applying for Financial Aid

Be sure to indicate on your Admission application that you will be applying for financial aid.
Complete a Clarity Application as soon as your application for admission is completed.
As part of the Clarity Application, you will be given instructions about submitting required documents. These documents must be provided directly to Clarity. Do not email or send tax documents to Storm King.

International Students

In addition to the above, International students will be prompted by Clarity to upload financial documentation. Please be sure to include the following in the upload:

A copy of 2022 and 2023 Home Country Tax Returns.
Proof of income for 2022 and 2023 tax years.
2022 and 2023 student tax return – if the student files a tax return

Divorced/Separated/Never been married Parents/Guardians

Each parent/guardian must complete a Clarity Application and submit documentation regardless of custodial arrangements.

Special Circumstances

If you have special circumstances that you would like us to consider, please explain fully in the notes section of the Clarity Application.

Notification

Financial aid decisions are mailed with the admission decision letters.

For Returning Students — Current Recipients of Aid

Beginning in 2025, we will be using the financial aid application platform, Clarity. In order to be eligible for financial aid, you must submit a financial aid application each year. The Clarity application, along with requested supporting tax documentation, is due by December 1.

As part of the Clarity Application, you will be given instructions about submitting required documents. These documents must be provided directly to Clarity. Do not email or send tax documents to Storm King.

Special circumstances

If you have special circumstances that you would like us to consider, please include all details in the notes section of the Clarity Application.

Divorced/Separated/Never been married Parents/Guardians

Each parent/guardian must complete a Clarity Application regardless of custodial arrangements.

Student Tax Returns

If a student files his/her own tax return, we require that you submit a copy of that as well.

Notification

Notification of financial aid decisions is made available with re-enrollment contracts in late March.

For Returning Students — New Aid Applicants

In order to be considered, documentation must be provided to explain a change in circumstances (i.e. change of employment, extreme health concerns, etc.). For returning students who are requesting aid for the first time:

Notify the Office of Financial Aid that you will be applying for financial aid for the 2025–26 school year.
By December 1, complete a Clarity Application.
Send a letter to the Office of Financial Aid which describes the change of circumstances that precipitates the need for financial assistance. Include in this letter any special circumstances that you would like us to consider.
After submitting your Clarity Application, you will be able to submit additional documents by uploading them directly to Clarity.
