The fourth “Meet the Head” gathering was held on February 6, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Trustee Peter Fox ’77 generously planned and hosted a three-course dinner and drinks for 20 cheerful attendees in a private room at Lynora’s restaurant. Everyone was connected across the decades by a shared Mountain experience and had fun seeing old friends and making new friends. The time flew by. Alumnus Steven Sims ’69 wrote the next day: “Last evening, I journeyed to West Palm Beach to a gathering of folks from my former school, The Storm King School, to meet the new Head of School Lisa Shambaugh.  I found her to be intelligent, dynamic, and as tough as Elizabeth Bennett–the protagonist of Jane Austen’s novel Pride and Prejudice.  I left the gathering inspired that SKS has found the best person for the job.  Ken Wang, also from my class, and I felt like dinosaurs but reveled in meeting the new leadership, both on the board and staff, and the energy reflected in the growth and evolution of my alma mater.”

The School thanks all who made the trip to meet Head of School Shambaugh and for their support: Vincent Alaimo ’85; Howard Arnold ’71; Roger ’67 and Denise Auerbacher; Lynn Crevling ’72; Peter ’77 and Mary Fox; Ken Goldwasser ’78; Bruce Hanson ’62 and guest Carolyn; Michael Fischer ’82; Tom Hillman ’74; Dan Lipson ’75; Kerryane Monahan ’92 and Robson Diniz; Arthur Reis ’75; Steven Sims ’69; David Slap ’75; and Kenneth Wang ’69.
