Along with being the Chairman of The Storm King School’s Visual and Performing Arts Department, Mr. Carruthers also teaches various levels of art instruction and an interdisciplinary course in Global History at SKS. He has taught in public and private schools in New York City, Yonkers, and the Hudson Valley. He previously taught Art History at Mercy College and conducts a yearly printmaking workshop at the Art Students League in New York City. During the summers, Mr. Carruthers teaches for the Artists Association of Nantucket where he was awarded the Randy Goldberger teaching award in 2014 and the mixed media award for his printmaking in 2013. He exhibits his works in various galleries in the Hudson Valley and New York City, New York and Nantucket, Massachusetts.
