Film & Video

§ 01 — The Program

At Storm King, Film & Video is where technical craft meets cinematic storytelling — from first frame to final cut.

In Film & Video, students become digital storytellers — designing graphics, editing images, cutting film, building websites, and producing original media from first idea to final export. They train in the same professional tools the industry runs on: Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator for design; Final Cut Pro for video; and Ableton Live, Pro Tools, and GarageBand for sound.

Set in the technology-rich classrooms of the Vladimir Arts Center, the program turns creative instinct into real, published work. Students design and launch their own websites, shoot and edit video that appears on Storm King’s site, produce graphics and presentations for school events, and exhibit at campus art shows — building a portfolio that travels with them to college and beyond.
