Stage Craft
§ 01 — The Program
Behind every memorable performance is a team of artists who bring the production to life.
The Stagecraft Program at The Storm King School immerses students in the creative and technical world of theater production, where they design sets, build scenery, program lighting, create sound, and transform ideas into unforgettable stage experiences.
Through hands-on work in our Walter Reade, Jr. Theater, students develop practical skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to collaborate as essential members of every production.
§ 02 — Course of Study
Curriculum Guide
From an introduction to technical theater to leadership roles on the Winter and Spring productions — a progression from first build to opening night.
§ 03 — Faculty
The craft behind
the curtain.
The Stagecraft Program is led by Liza Brown, who guides students from their first cut of lumber to opening night — teaching set design, construction, lighting, and sound while trusting students with real responsibility on every production.

§ 04 — Visit Our Classes
See creativity in action. Meet our students and teachers, and step behind the scenes.
The best way to understand our stagecraft program is to experience it. We invite prospective students and their families to visit campus, tour the Walter Reade, Jr. Theater, meet our faculty, and see firsthand how creativity flourishes at the foot of Storm King Mountain.
