The Storm King School is pleased to welcome new Director of Academic Support Heather Cosgriff to the 2021-22 Faculty. Ms. Cosgriff will administer the School’s Academic Support Program and teach several classes while she supports other faculty members in providing  individualized attention for their students.

Ms. Cosgriff holds a BA from Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania with a major in Psychology and a minor in Education. She earned her MA in Applied Educational Psychology as a Reading Specialist from Teachers College at Columbia University in New York. In addition, she has additional training in reading and writing literacy and Orton-Gillingham Multisensory Teaching of Basic Language Skills.

A newcomer to the Hudson Valley, Ms. Cosgriff says that while getting to know Storm King, discovering the surrounding area and serving as a resource for students, teachers, and parents are among her goals this year.

Ms. Cosgriff joins SKS having served as the Director of Learning Support at Saddle River Day School in Saddle River, New Jersey, as a Learning Specialist at The Episcopal Academy in Merion, Pennsylvania, and as a Reading and Learning Specialist at Friends Select School in Philadelphia. She is delighted to be on the Mountain and can’t wait to meet our students: “My message for students as we begin the school year is: Take an active role in your education, set meaningful goals, and advocate for yourself.  Be patient with yourself and with others, and never be afraid to ask for help!”

Please join us in welcoming Ms. Cosgriff to the Storm King Community.
