The 155th school year at The Storm King School is slated to be a great one as we welcome 150 students from 21 countries with an equal number of boys and girls. Within this number, we have 55 day students from the local area who have chosen to call Storm King their home. According to the Assistant Head of School for Admissions and Marketing, Marek Pramuka, SKS has many reasons to celebrate beginning with our student body.

“This year, we are welcoming one of the most gifted groups of students we have ever worked with. Our domestic students account for 60% of the total enrollment and represent 13 states across the nation. Our international students come from as far away as Nigeria, Ghana, China, Taiwan and many countries across the European and Central American continents. Thanks to the generosity of our alumni and friends, we have been able to provide scholarships in excess of $2.1M to aid qualified students in accessing The Storm King education; students who would otherwise not be able to afford the cost of our tuition. As a result, Storm King School’s student body, once again, ranks among the most diverse both in terms of demographics as well as socioeconomics,” explained Mr. Pramuka.

“We have an outstanding group of teenagers coming to our campus. Among them is a talented student from Kyiv, Ukraine who we were able to aid in escaping the horrors of the war. A number of our students return to campus after completing summer science camps for the gifted at some of our nation’s top universities. We also continue to attract brilliant student-artists; kids who dream of careers in the field of architecture, fashion design, theater, and dance. We have a young filmmaker who traveled to Thailand this summer to complete a documentary film and one of our dancers just finished her studies at one of Spain’s top dance conservatories. Our girls basketball program is going to be fun to watch. We have numerous players who are being recruited by D1 colleges including Ivy league universities. We also have children of alumni who, just like their parents did in the 80s and 90s, will call Storm King School their home during the 2022/23 school year,” continued Mr. Pramuka.

“This success is due to the strong reputation our The Storm King School has built both domestically and globally. Our students are inspired and supported by our exceptional faculty and staff. They are immersed in a nurturing environment where they are encouraged to dream big and reach for the stars.
As a result, they attend great colleges which are outcomes families across the globe seek out,” he continued.

“I am also very excited to see our students resume a full in-person academic and student life program this fall. I look forward to seeing our scholars in our classrooms, watching our performing artists on stage, and seeing our athletes compete on the athletic field. It’s going to be a great year,” explained Mr. Pramuka.
