The Garrison Art Center is filled with color and artistic energy thanks to their annual School Invitational Theme Exhibition called SITE. The theme of this year’s SITE is ‘You Are Here,’ which encourages young artists to explore the art and design of the Hudson Valley. The Storm King School is among 13 area high schools to participate in the exhibition this year.

Four students in Ms. Liggett’s Digital Photography class–Jimmy G. ’23, Hugo L. ’23, Jack M. ’23, and Daniel Z. ’25–have their photos on display,  which prompted a group of Storm King students and faculty to travel to the gallery to support their peers at the exhibition’s recent opening reception. The gallery was buzzing as visitors studied and discussed the artwork with the artists, along with Ishmael B. ’23 who was a model in a portrait photo taken by Hugo. Congratulations to these talented student artists for their great work!

ABOUT SITE

SITE is one of the longest-running outreach programs at the Garrison Art Center for grades K – 12.  The program encourages teachers in the Hudson Valley to engage their students in a theme-based project to be exhibited at the Art Center. Garrison Art Center’s goal for 29 years has been to encourage cross-curriculum learning while supporting students’ artistic confidence by providing them with a venue to exhibit their work.
