Amid a successful winter season, The Storm King School boys’ varsity basketball team is also making a meaningful impact off the court by visiting Beautiful People Adaptive Sports. This non-profit organization offers adaptive sports programs for children with disabilities and is a valued community service partner of the School.

Coach Mike Luongo and several members of the team traveled to Beautiful People along with faculty member Lisa Shrem and other SKS student volunteers to share their basketball skills with the children. Students who participated described the outing as “fantastic” and “a real pleasure.” “The Storm King players had a great time interacting with the children and teaching them some of their game. The kids really looked up to them. It was an enjoyable experience for everyone,” explained Coach Luongo.

As the Cougars continue their winning season, the team looks forward to returning to Beautiful People in the coming weeks. Their dedication to making a difference both on and off the court is a perfect example of the sportsmanship, character, and community spirit nurtured at The Storm King School.
