What your tuition covers
Included in tuition
Instruction, room, board, and all meals in the dining room. Health and wellness center privileges, laundry facilities, physical training and athletic privileges, and use of laboratory and computer equipment. Admission to all school concerts, assemblies, plays, and athletic contests. Day tuition covers all of the above except room and laundry.
Billed separately
Optional off-campus and weekend activities. Books, athletic equipment, and special services such as private music instruction or practicum transportation. See the full breakdown of optional fees below — some may or may not apply to your student depending on their needs and interests.

Student Life Fee +
This annual fee of $2,000 covers the cost of wireless internet and technology usage and some student activities. Students have access to wireless internet throughout campus and to a printer for academic work if needed. Teachers have access to iPads for classroom projects. Students should bring their own laptop computers. Tech support is available for school-related services.
Other Fees +
Activities
SKS offers a myriad of arts/cultural trips, outdoor adventures, and community service opportunities. In some cases SKS absorbs the cost; in others, transportation, entry, equipment, etc. must be paid by families. Teachers usually provide an estimate of cost while announcing the opportunity.
Required of all new international students, who arrive a week ahead of registration to rest from travel, acclimate, form relationships, and sit for placement testing.
Begins with an assessment to determine each non-native speaker's proficiency; students are then placed in classes suited to their needs.
Academic Support Program
Families of students with mild learning differences work with Admissions to determine whether extra support would help. ASP begins with a Base Class to strengthen executive function and provide oversight; students may also take core classes (English, math, science, history) within ASP.
Medical Insurance
All students are required to carry adequate comprehensive medical insurance usable in the local area. Those without their own coverage may purchase it through SKS.
Transportation
Airport transport is provided by SKS through the Office of Student & Residential Life with a minimum of 7 days' notice. One-way rates (not dependent on party size):

Laundry
Washers and dryers are provided free of charge; detergent is available in the School Store. An optional laundry service runs Wednesday–Friday, billed by the pound for bulk and per garment for dry cleaning through the Business Office. A free linen service is provided to boarding students each Friday (two sheets, one pillowcase, two small towels).
Books and School Uniforms
Our "virtual" bookstore uses Follett as textbook provider; books and materials average $350 per term and may be charged to SKS accounts. Uniforms are ordered from Tommy Hilfiger via GlobalSchoolwear.
Room Safe Rental
Escrow Deposit +
This sum is held by the school to cover unpaid costs incurred by the student — books, testing, supplies, room or property damages, etc. If those expenses are not paid by the family, the amount is deducted from escrow. Any unused amount is credited to the account when enrollment is completed.
Student Banking & Invoicing +
An ATM is available on campus. All students should have a debit/credit card for cash needs or campus purchases, including the school store and student center snack bar. There is a $1.75 charge per ATM transaction, plus any fee from your bank. Invoicing is permitted for certain services; families receive monthly statements for invoiced charges.
Private Music Lessons +
30-Minute Lesson — $48 each
60-Minute Lesson — $75 each
Students signing up commit to one full term and are billed the entire term fee early in the term. Materials (books, instruments, strings, metronomes) are the student's responsibility and appear on the end-of-term statement. Students are responsible for attending each lesson; no refunds for missed lessons, though a teacher who misses will reschedule. Parents must agree in writing in advance.
