Earlier this month, the Storm King Fencers traveled to Ridgefield, Connecticut to compete in a tournament held at The Way of the Sword Fencing Academy. The tournament, which took place on February 23, 2020, was attended by multiple private fencing clubs along with students from the Daniel Hand High School.

According to Coach Murphy, the SKS team fenced very well, with junior Thinh Tran in his first competition placing 6th overall in a pool of 17 fencers, freshman Jack Pan competing in senior men’s saber and taking the bronze medal, and sophomore Ben Liu competing in senior men’s foil taking the gold medal.

“Everyone did a great job. Both Ben Liu and Jack Pan also qualified for the Summer Invitational Nationals to be held during the summer 2020 season,” explained Coach Murphy upon their return. “Congratulations to all the SKS fencers and I applaud their efforts this season.”
