The Storm King School was overjoyed to welcome parents and alumni recently for another memorable Career Day. Guests represented a wide range of graduation years, experience, and industries, fostering connections with current juniors and seniors. Alumni participants included Andrew Da Silva ‘06, Matthew Fascaldi ‘14, Nadia Delisfort ‘15, Giselle Morales Lopez ‘18, Holly Corish ‘19, and Steven Muller ‘19. Joining us from the Parents Association were Marco Smith P’28, Joe Kraeutler P’29, Alex De Campi P’29, Christine Getzler Vaughan P’29, and Dr. Trevor McGinley P’28 and P’30. Together, they brought expertise from a diverse array of fields, spanning information technology, art curation, private equity, nuclear engineering, documentary screenwriting, and more!
For some alumni, it had been years since their last visit to the Mountain and many remarked on our campus improvements. Giselle Morales ‘19 commented on the necessity of the girls’ locker room renovations, joking, “as a retired student athlete, I’m jealous. As an adult member of the community, I’m elated thinking about the current students enjoying a supportive environment before games.”

Career Day continues to be an incredibly impactful event, offering students the opportunity to make meaningful connections that can last a lifetime. The afternoon was structured into three half-hour informational sessions, with students selecting their areas of interest in advance through a survey. Following a warm welcome from Head of School Lisa Shambaugh, the event quickly came to life as students eagerly headed to their first sessions. Reflecting on the experience, Arina V. ’27 shared that her sessions were “excellent” and featured a “top-notch lineup.” Many students commented on how the sessions highlighted the importance of networking and encouraged them to remain open to a variety of career paths.
The day concluded with an invitation for our guests to join the community for Formal Dinner. This month’s theme, a delicious “Taste of Italy,” was expertly prepared by Chef Andy Comey and his talented team, providing a perfect close to a day centered on connection, inspiration, and shared experience.
