As The Storm King School welcomes students back for the 2026–2027 academic year, several campus improvement projects have been completed or are near completion, creating fresher, more comfortable spaces for students to live, learn, and gather together.

Among the largest projects are new roofs for Ogden Hall and Stillman Hall. The Stillman roof is complete, while work on the Ogden Hall roof is currently underway. These improvements will help protect and maintain these important campus buildings for years to come.

 

Student living spaces have also received attention this summer. Highmount House, Dempsey House, and McConnell House now have new flooring in their hallways and lounges, giving the spaces students know and use every day a fresh look and feel. A new walkway was also poured connecting Highmount to the Art Center for improved access around the buildings and campus.

The Administration Building lobby has also been refurbished, featuring new furniture, which creates a brighter, more welcoming space for students, families, and visitors as they arrive on campus.

 

These improvements complement the construction of the new Irving and Muriel Fischer Academic Center, which is now nearing completion. Together, the projects represent a significant period of investment in the Storm King campus, enhancing both the spaces students use every day and the facilities that will shape their academic experience for years to come.

The work also reflects the School’s strategic plan for campus development and improvement, which calls for thoughtful, ongoing investment in the campus to support the School’s mission and the needs of its students.

As students return this fall, they’ll see the results of this work throughout the places where they live, learn, and build community.
