The Storm King School recognizes the importance of developing leadership skills among our student population. Joining the Student Council is one important way they can get involved in leading efforts to improve the overall Storm King experience. On Thursday, October 5, after a family-style meal of shark with mango sauce and roasted purple potatoes, new members of the Student Council stepped up to the podium to give their induction speeches in the Walter Reade Jr. Theatre.
After a brief introduction by faculty member David Mendlewski, who welcomed “a fine group of young student leaders to the Student Council,” students from various grades made colorful and enthusiastic speeches explaining what they plan to do for the Storm King student body this year. The rest of the school community cheered as they explained their plans and promises for the year.
