National College Decision Day is only a few days away (Sunday, May 1, 2022), and excitement is at its pinnacle among members of the Storm King Class of 2022. The seniors have a lot to be proud of, with more to come as they get closer to making their final commitments to the institutions they will attend in the fall.

The bar was set high by last year’s graduates, who moved on to some of the nation’s most prestigious universities and art colleges, and this year’s roster is already impressive. The whiteboards in the College Counseling Office are filling up quickly with acceptances from an array of private and public institutions from across the United States, top art colleges, and many from the Ivy League.

Cornell University, Notre Dame, Villanova, Tufts, Case Western, New York University, University of Southern California, University of Virginia, Oberlin College, Babson College, Boston College, Drexel University, American University, Syracuse University, Temple University, Seton Hall, Parsons, Pratt Institute, Penn State, Fordham, UMass Boston, University of California–Davis, University of California-Irvine, University of California-Santa Barbara; Ohio State University, Washington University of St. Louis, Siena College, and Union College are only some of the acceptances that have been reported to date.

The Class of 2022 also boasts a total of seven student-athletes who have committed to play their sport at NCAA Division I and II schools– the largest number in the recent Storm King history– including Oregon State University, Lehigh University, Franklin Pierce University, D’Youville, Husson University, College of Saint Rose.

“I’m very excited for the senior class as they continue to evaluate their options,” commented Director of College Counseling Dr. Marti Kwon. “Each one of them worked very hard and should be proud of their accomplishments. With so many excellent colleges and universities to choose from, their biggest challenge will be making their final decisions by May 1. I am confident that they will choose well as they embark on this journey into the next phase of their lives.”
