The Storm King Cougars have been busy on the fields, courts, and trails, closing out September and opening October with some impressive wins, individual achievements, and continued hard work across all fall teams.
Boys Varsity Soccer
The Boys Varsity Soccer team has been on a roll, earning three consecutive victories. The Cougars defeated Marvelwood School 10–2 on October 3 before delivering a strong shutout against NYMA on October 5. The team will look to carry that momentum into its upcoming matches.


Girls Varsity Soccer
The Girls Varsity Soccer team continues to work hard and build momentum, including challenging matchups against Wooster to close out September and Watkinson School on October 3. With more games ahead, the Cougars will look to build on their experience and carry their effort into the next stretch of competition.

Girls Varsity Volleyball
The Varsity Volleyball team earned two victories during this stretch, defeating Forman School 3–0 on September 30 and Marvelwood School 3–1 at home on October 3. The team faced Christian Heritage School on October 5, coming away with a loss. The Cougars will continue to build on their early-season successes and prepare for the challenges ahead.

Girls JV Volleyball
The JV Volleyball team opened the stretch with an exciting 2–1 victory over Forman School on September 30 before facing Christian Heritage School on October 5, where the match ended in a loss. The team continues to develop its skills and teamwork, gaining valuable experience with each match.


Cross Country
The cross country team turned in two solid performances to open October. On October 3, the Cougars placed 4th overall at Watkinson, led by Liam M. ’27, who finished 2nd with a time of 19:13. Kyler W. ’27 also delivered a strong race, placing 9th in 21:20.

The team followed that performance with a 5th place overall finish at the NYMA Invitational on October 7. Peter R. ’27 led the Cougars with a 10th-place finish in 20:12.9, followed closely by Liam in 12th place with a time of 20:22.9. Rikki E. ’28 finished 14th in 29:31.7, and Mariana K. ’28 placed 19th in 31:50.5.


With the fall season in full swing, the Cougars continue to show determination, learn from every competition, and work toward their next opportunities. There are many more games to play, races to run, and bells to ring on the Mountain.
