An integral part of The Storm King School’s end-of-year festivities, the Spring Dance Recital mesmerized the audience at the Walter Reade, Jr. Theatre. This year’s event featured 19 captivating dance routines performed by a talented ensemble comprising five graduating seniors and eight underclassmen. It was hailed as a fitting finale to the semester by attendees.

The evening commenced with all 13 students from Mrs. Jacobson’s spring dance class setting the tone with a spirited performance to Slayyyter’s “Gimme More Mix.” From there, the audience was treated to a diverse array of solo and group routines choreographed to various musical genres. Memorable moments included Emily’s emotive solo to “Spring is Not Too Late (春不晚)” and the graduating senior ensemble’s heartfelt rendition of “Stole the Show.”
Mrs. Jacobson expressed heartfelt sentiments towards the graduating seniors, praising their growth and dedication throughout their years at SKS. “Choreographing their senior piece was both a joy and an emotional journey,” she shared. Head of School Jonathan Lamb echoed these sentiments, acknowledging the exceptional talent and energy that characterized the recital: “Congratulations to all of the dancers and Mrs. Jacobson for a wonderful show. We will certainly miss the five seniors who have worked so hard over their years here. Thank you to the stage crew, the audience, and to all of our parents and guests who have supported these students and the School.”
