Their winning momentum continued on Saturday, January 27 when the boys hosted Eagle Hill School. The Cougars took the lead early on and cruised to an 86-44 victory as their fans cheered them on.  The team’s defense was led by senior Mingwei Yang with captain Alex Goldsberry (30 points) and junior #30 Jayden Figueroa (23 points) leading the Cougar offense with 53 points combined. Newcomers freshman #20 Brandon Despaigne and sophomore #34 Jeryl Tollerson had their best games of the year scoring 13 points combined off the bench.

The JV Cougars hosted Darrow School on Saturday; falling 27-48 after valiant play against their opponent’s more experienced varsity squad. Despite the loss, the performance of our JV boys served to impress their opponents who posted very sportsmanlike comments about Saturday’s game: “Darrow men traveled down to Cornwall-on-Hudson to face the Storm King JV squad. Despite the score, the SKS JV squad was scrappy, aggressive on defense, and pretty accurate beyond the arc. While we played a ready team, we still were able to handle them pretty well, coming out with a 48-27 victory on the road.”

The varsity Cougars will travel to Litchfield, CT this afternoon to face Forman School. Tip-off time is 4:30 pm.
