It’s been a fun and action-packed spring for the Storm King Cougars. All of our athletic teams have been making waves on the fields and courts, and the enthusiasm from players and coaches alike is contagious. Our coaches are celebrating both individual breakthroughs and team accomplishments as the season moves forward—and they’re eager to share some of the standout moments from this exciting season.
Baseball: A Young Team With Veteran Energy
Coaches Gillett and Constantinidi tell us that the Storm King squad is mixing experience and fresh talent with exciting results. “SKS Baseball is led by sophomore captain Logan K. ’27, who has been outstanding on the mound all season. Assistant captains Patrick F. ’25 and Max H. ’25 are anchoring both offense and defense, while newer players like Masa O. ’27, Noah K. ’27, Haru K. ’27, and freshman Gavin M. ’28 are making impressive strides. Leni R. ’26 has also made a smooth and successful transition from softball to baseball.” Right now, Storm King is looking to build momentum and finish the season on a high note.
Boys Varsity Tennis: The Streak Continues
Boys Varsity Lacrosse: Newcomers Making Noise
Coach Hammell couldn’t be prouder of the progress his team has made: “Josh M. ’26 had four goals in our game against Salisbury recently. For a student who has never played lacrosse before, this is a huge accomplishment. Overall, the team has shown exemplary growth in the sport of Lacrosse since the season began! The best is yet to come.”
Girls Varsity Tennis: Effort, Dedication, and Character
“We have 11 new (out of 12) members on the girls’ tennis team, many who are 9th and 10th graders,” reports Coach Siddiqui.  “Coach Sutter and myself very much appreciate their efforts, dedication, and character in practices and matches.  For example, Yoyo W ’28, after a recent loss in a match, asked if we can push her harder in practice.”
Girls Varsity Lacrosse: Growth and Consistency
Girls Lacrosse has seen tremendous growth this semester according to Coach Grausso. “We’ve seen the girls make great strides, especially our new players like Ana-Cecelia L. ’27, who dominates our defensive force. New to the sport this year is Milana R. ’28 who has taken up the daunting task of playing goal. She is proving to be a quick study and formidable presence on the field, with about a 50% save rate already. Returning player and junior captain Juliana D. ’27 made 3 out of 4 shots in an earlier game this season, and has been our most consistent scorer.”
