The spring sports season at The Storm King School ended the year with some big wins, many personal bests, and plenty of Cougar spirit. Across all of the teams, our student athletes showed commitment, skill, and enthusiasm both on and off the field and court.

Boys Tennis

The boys tennis team led the charge with an undefeated 9–0 season and an impressive 60–6 individual match record. Coach Paul Feffer called the team’s passion “remarkable,” noting how players regularly came early, stayed late, and played on weekends. Seniors Sagan N. ’25 and Jimmy L. ’25 anchored the squad, earning both All HVAL and All NEPSAC honors along with their respective Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Coach’s Awards. They were joined by Tokiwa Y. ’28 on the All HVAL team and supported by key players like Yusei S. ’25, Luis G. ’26, and Milo M. ’25. Both Sagan and Jimmy plan to continue their tennis careers in college this coming fall.

Baseball

Storm King Baseball saw steady progress and memorable moments this year according to Coach Tim Gillett: “The team showed consistent improvement all season, even throughout the tough stretches.” Their first win came with an 8–3 victory over Montfort Academy. One of the season’s highlights was a home game at the historic Delano-Hitch Stadium in Newburgh. In front of a spirited and supportive crowd, the Cougars held their own for several innings before Oakwood pulled away late, resulting in a loss. Despite the score, the atmosphere was electric, and the community’s energy gave the game a true minor league feel.”  Logan K. ’27, the team’s ace pitcher and MVP, earned All HVAL and All NEPSAC honors. Masa O. ’27, a key presence at shortstop, received the Coach’s Award and was named to the All HVAL team along with Max H. ’25 and Gavin M. ’28.
