The 158th year at The Storm King School is set to be an exciting one, especially when it comes to college placement. Every graduating class continues to raise the bar, with nearly 100% of last year’s seniors attending one of their top choice schools including the University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon, UCLA, and NYU. Storm King’s College Counseling Office is prepared to work with students at all grade levels the moment classes resume.
Director of College Counseling Daniel Constantinidi plans to continue his individualized and grade-level work with students and families throughout the year. “Our mission is to guide each student toward colleges and universities that best match their talents, goals, and potential,” said Mr. Constantinidi. “From researching schools, signing up for standardized testing, navigating the Common App, and writing essays, to reviewing financial aid packages and making final selections—I’m here to help every step of the way.”
This fall, the College Counseling program will feature a mix of in-person workshops, on-campus college visits, and digital tools to support the process. Highlights include tips on college visits, college essay/application nights, and how to curate a strong college list. Juniors and seniors will have early opportunities to connect with admissions representatives from some of the nations top colleges, while underclassmen will prepare for the most recent Digital SAT format by taking the Digital PSAT.
In addition, the School will continue to use Scoir, a user-friendly college counseling platform that uses data from millions of students to help Storm King families better understand acceptance trends and tailor their planning process.
“I’m looking forward to meeting our new students and reconnecting with returners,” he said. “The earlier we begin, the better—so I encourage all juniors and seniors to stop by my office or send me an email as soon as classes start. Let’s get to work on making your college goals a reality.”
