The Storm King School boys varsity basketball team capped off winter break with a championship run at the 2025 PCSST Holiday Classic, held from December 26–30, 2025 at the Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST) in Paterson, New Jersey. The multi-day tournament brought together a strong lineup of New Jersey and regional programs, and after finishing second a year ago, Storm King entered the varsity bracket determined to finish on top.

The Cougars opened play with a hard-fought 68–66 win over Dwight Morrow (NJ), showing composure in a tight game. Senior guard Nick H. ’26 led the way with 21 points, setting the tone for the rest of the tournament. Storm King carried that momentum into the championship semifinals, where the Cougars delivered one of their best performances of the season, defeating host Paterson Charter (NJ) 57–39 behind disciplined defense and a controlled tempo.

In the championship game, Storm King faced Martin Van Buren High School (NY) in a competitive, physical matchup. The Cougars relied on balanced scoring and timely defensive stops down the stretch to secure a 52–47 victory and claim the tournament title, completing a three-game run that highlighted their consistency and execution.

Nick’s leadership and scoring throughout the event earned him Most Valuable Player honors, while wins over Dwight Morrow, Paterson Charter, and Martin Van Buren underscored the strength of Storm King’s program. The title reflected the team’s early-season work and growth after last year’s runner-up finish and provided valuable exposure against high-level competition. Storm King left Paterson as champions and with confidence and momentum heading into the remainder of the season.
