Storm King School Baseball wrapped up the spring season with growth, resilience, and exciting progress as the Cougars competed in the challenging Housatonic Valley League for the first time this year. Although the Cougars’ playoff run ended with a semifinal loss to Harvey School, the season featured many memorable moments that point toward a bright future for the program.
Among the highlights were early- and late-season victories over the Oakwood Lions, with junior captain Logan K. ’27 earning both wins on the mound through strong leadership and clutch performances. The Cougars’ final win over Oakwood was especially memorable, as the game was played at the Little League fields at Riverlight Park in Cornwall, New York. Faculty, staff, and students came out to cheer on the Cougars, creating an atmosphere full of school spirit and energy that made for a fun and fitting way to close out the season on a high note.
Throughout the season, Storm King faced tough competition from league opponents including Harvey School, Wooster School, and Forman School. According to coaches Tim Gillett and Dan Constantinidi, each challenge helped the young team gain valuable experience and confidence against stronger competition.
The Cougars are well positioned for continued success next season, with nearly every key player expected to return. The returning core players include juniors Jaewon K. ’27, Masa O. ’27, Kyler W. ’27, and Haruho K. ’27 along with ninth grader Avery D. ’29, and eighth graders Aariz C. ’30 and Alvin P. ’30.
“We are excited about the direction of the program and the experience our players gained this season. With another year of development ahead, the Cougars hope to build on this season’s momentum and compete for a top spot in the Housatonic Valley League next spring,” commented Coach Gillett.
