We are proud to announce that Storm King School junior Junyu C. ‘27 has been selected as a 2026 Carson Scholar–a prestigious national recognition that honors students who demonstrate both outstanding academic achievement and a strong commitment to community service.

The Carson Scholars Program, established by the Carson Scholars Fund, recognizes students in grades 4–11 who maintain a minimum 3.75 GPA while also dedicating time and effort to helping others in their communities. Schools across the country nominate exceptional students for the honor, and recipients are chosen from a highly competitive national applicant pool.

This year’s selection process was especially competitive, as the 2026 class represents the largest cohort of Carson Scholars in the program’s 30-year history. Junyu is among nearly 600 students nationwide selected as new Carson Scholars, placing them among an outstanding group of young leaders committed to academic excellence and service.

As a Carson Scholar, Junyu will receive a $1,000 college scholarship, which will be invested on their behalf and accrue interest until they enroll in college. Scholars also receive a Carson Scholars Fund medal and certificate recognizing their achievement.

In recognition of Junyu’s accomplishment, the School will also receive a Carson Scholars Fund trophy or an engraved nameplate to add to an existing trophy honoring Carson Scholars from the school.

Junyu and his fellow Carson Scholars will be formally celebrated at the 30th Annual Carson Scholars Fund Maryland Awards Banquet on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at The HALL at Live! where recipients will be recognized in front of their families, peers, and educators.

This honor reflects Junyu’s dedication to learning, leadership, and service to others, as well as Storm King’s core values of Truth, Respect, and Responsibility. Congratulations to  Junyu on this outstanding accomplishment.
