As winter continues on the Mountain, The Storm King School took a moment to celebrate the hard work our students completed during the first half of the school year. On the evening of Thursday, February 17, 2022, faculty, students, and parents gathered in the Walter Reade Jr. Theatre for the Fall 2021 Academic Awards. These awards, also known as the “Book Awards,” are an important tradition where a student from each class is selected by their teacher for their outstanding achievement and given a personally-selected book.

In his opening words, Asst. Head of School for Academics Dr. Tim Lance explained that “each student we recognize is committed to the active pursuit of excellence and each has developed habits and attitudes which will serve them well beyond today. We celebrate this opportunity to lift up and emphasize the ideals of scholarship, creativity, perseverance, and character that are so important to our work and our school.” After each department handed out their awards, Head of School Jonathan Lamb closed the ceremony by praising the students for their hard work and thanking the community for their participation and support.

Congratulations to all of the award winners for their achievements this past fall. Many thanks go out to the faculty and staff for all of their efforts with our students.
