With the arrival of warmer days and budding trees, the spring athletic season at The Storm King School is officially underway—and our student-athletes are making the most of it. From the first pitches and the final serves, our fields and courts are alive with teamwork, school spirit, and great play.

The Cougar baseball team kicked off their schedule with a strong showing in their home opener against Monfort at the end of March. With the 2024 HVAL Championship win under their belts and a mix of seasoned players and new talent stepping up to the plate, Coaches Gillett and Constantinidi report that the team is working hard and showing real promise as the season progresses.

On the field, both the boys and girls lacrosse teams are in full stride. Their practices have been intense and focused, translating into competitive games and growing confidence with every match. Coaches Hammell and Grausso have praised their teams’ determination and hard work, noting how well players are supporting one another both on and off the field.

The boys varsity volleyball team has also drawn attention this season, not only for their competitive spirit but for their new leadership. Coach Dashaun Graham joins Storm King after a successful college and professional playing career, including time spent competing abroad. His experience as a high-level player gives him valuable insight into the game and a clear vision for how to help the team grow and succeed this season. His coaching style emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and resilience, and the team has responded with impressive enthusiasm and focus so far.

On the hill, the Storm King tennis courts have been buzzing with activity. After their HVAL Championship wins last season, Coaches Feffer and Siddiqui report that both the boys and girls tennis teams are enjoying a solid start to their seasons. With sweeping views of the Hudson River as a backdrop, practices and home matches to date have been equally exciting and inspiring.

The Storm King Ultimate Frisbee team is also off to a strong start once again this spring. According to Coach Fulton, the Cougars are in the process of building up their signature teamwork and skills through consistent practice and competitive matchups. With a mix of returning players and newcomers, they’re working hard to sharpen their catches and throws, gain confidence, and have a lot of fun.

As the spring season continues to unfold, the Storm King Cougars are showing great potential, with each game building skills, teamwork, and school spirit. With more exciting competition ahead, it’s clear that this season holds a lot of promise for Storm King Athletics.
