With snow blanketing the Mountain, the Storm King School community gathered in the Walter Reade Jr. Theatre recently to celebrate the accomplishments of our students during the Fall 2023 semester. These awards, known as the “Book Awards,” are an important SKS tradition where an outstanding young scholar from each class is selected by their teacher and given a personally-selected book.

In his opening words, Assistant Head of School for Academics Dr. Tim Lance explained that “each student we recognize is committed to the active pursuit of excellence and each has developed habits and attitudes which will serve them well beyond today. We celebrate this opportunity to lift up and emphasize the ideals of scholarship, creativity, perseverance, and character that are so important to our work and our school.” After each academic department handed out their awards, Head of School Jonathan Lamb closed the ceremony by praising the students for their hard work and thanking the community for their participation and support.

Congratulations to all of the award winners and their teachers, and many thanks go to the faculty and staff for their efforts in support of our students.
