Saturday, October 7, was a light day for our student-athletes with only two Storm King teams in action. Girls varsity volleyball traveled to Marvelwood and rolled over their opponents 3-0. Marvelwood was never in the match as our girls worked together to dismantle the Pterodactyls with outstanding teamwork, communication, and powerful serving. Storm King is currently in third place in the HVAL standings with two very important matches against Oakwood coming up in the next two weeks.

The boys varsity soccer team made the long trek to Darrow and got off to a slow start in the match but, once we shook off the bus haze and got our heads out of the SAT, we got control of the game jumping ahead to a 5-1 lead at halftime. With many younger players on the field in the second half, Storm King shut down Darrow and coasted to a 7-1 win over the Ducks. Alonso Gonzalez found his niche scoring 4 goals with Leonardo Zhou, Eduardo Pena, and Daniel Amandi Moreno adding one each. Storm King will have a run of five league matches in the next two weeks. The team is currently on top of the HVAL standings with a 4-0 league record.
